Self-care During a Self-quarantine

There's one clear theme running loud and clear everywhere CORONAVIRUS. There's no doubt that this is a very freakish time for all of us. Especially for people who suffer from anxiety, or belong to poor and lower-middle class.

Many of us can work from home. But countless other service providers are being laid off from work,  struggling to make ends meet. They have no clue how they'll pay rent, bills and school fees of their children.

Undoubtedly,  each one of us is getting affected by this pandemic in ways small and big.
So, it's normal to have anxiety at this time.

The mental health issue is serious and where necessary, should be addressed with the help of professionals. Remember acknowledging that things are not well. Seeking help is a sign of strength not shame (stop thinking about à¤²ोग क्या कहेंगे)

From the past few days, I shoved carbs in my mouth while stress-surfing through different news channels. Basically, sleeping and stress-eating were the only things I was doing. I read an article and then I realized there are better ways to cope with this situation.

3 Ways to Avoid Gaining the Quarantine Fifteen
I made a list of a few things.
  • De-cluttering - Organize your closet. Donate or sell the extra things you have. Give your room a makeover. 

  • Learn something new- With very limited job vacancies, a new skill can boost your chances of getting a job. There is an infinite number of online classes on websites like edX and Skillshare.

  • Read- Reading has lots of benefits like vocabulary expansion, memory improvement, benefits of reading, etc. And now with applications like Anybooks and Kindle, we can save money and read at the same time.
